Our Riverside Rep Raises the Bar for CDL Training

How Monty Helps Future Truck Drivers in Riverside, California

Helping people has always been Monty’s mission. Whether it was flying helicopters or mentoring students in higher education, Monty has dedicated his career to serving others. Today, at United Truck Driving School, he’s helping future drivers launch successful, professional careers in trucking. That all starts with truck driver training.
Before joining us at United Truck Driving School, Monty wore a variety of hats! Prior to entering the world of admissions in education and training, he was charting a different course. Monty spent three decades as a helicopter pilot in the United States military and reserves. Following his military career, he continued his pursuit of helping others succeed as an admissions advisor. During his time in admissions, he’s worked at several different types of institutions, including career schools, colleges, and even universities. He strives to help students achieve their career goals, and that shows through his experience.

The Route that Brought Monty to United Truck Driving School’s CDL Training

In Monty’s journey to help others, he found United Truck Driving School in Riverside, California. When we asked about what drew him to join our team, he commended the staff on being supportive, engaged, and involved in student success to create a teamwork-centered culture.

“I felt from the start that United Truck Driving School was much more student-focused and career success-oriented than many schools I had worked at previously.”
– Monty Jordan

Our commitment to student success is what brought Monty to our school, but since he started working with us in 2020, he’s also had a great impact on the students at our Riverside campus. We often ask our graduates about their experience at United Truck Driving School, and Monty is repeatedly praised for his helpful nature.

“Talking to Monty, we had a good conversation, and he advised me on everything I needed prior to starting CDL training, the first being a Skill Performance Evaluation (SPE). The staff was very thoughtful about what I needed as a driver who had to undergo a SPE, and they worked to set a standard for students like me at United.”
Caleb Mills, 2024 United Truck Driving School Graduate

As a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), Monty prides himself on giving each incoming student one hundred percent of his time and consideration, finding the program that’s right for them, and finding ways to help them make schooling more affordable. That same level of dedication carries over into Monty’s personal life where he stays active with his family and the people in his community.

Beyond the Office: What Monty’s Life Looks Like Off the Clock

When Monty is not guiding future drivers, he enjoys a wide range of activities to keep him active and connected. He enjoys hiking, golf and of course, flying. Monty also enjoys college sports, actively supporting the UCLA Bruins football team whenever he can.

Aside from his many hobbies, Monty treasures the time he gets to spend with his family – especially his grandchildren. Whether it’s sharing stories or enjoying a backyard barbecue, he finds joy in being a present and supportive grandfather.

Monty also enjoys giving back to the community. He is a board member for the organization Team Rubicon, a non-profit focused on national and international disaster relief. This organization, like Monty, is focused on helping others. Whether it’s finding the right career, or cleaning up from a natural disaster, Monty is committed to the community and its success.

An Admissions Rep that Goes the Extra Mile

Monty is an employee who has made an impact on both the students and the staff. When we look for an admissions advisor at United Truck Driving School, we look for someone who can work well with the team and is motivated to see others succeed. We want an advisor who is friendly, easy to talk to and knowledgeable about the transportation industry. Monty has been able to achieve this with his experience in the admissions role and has brought a lot of positivity to CDL training at our Riverside campus.

Looking at a student’s career goals and helping achieve them is the pinnacle of what we strive for at United, and Monty is able to build rapport with students in a way that is completely unique to him. With his years of military experience, which we are so thankful for, Monty is able to relate to people from many walks of life, which is crucial with the diversity of the truck driving industry. With his experience, Monty is the perfect fit for United, and we are proud to have him as a member of our staff.

“Monty does a great job! He has built good relationships with funding agencies and corporate partners, lasting friendships with students and is a valued member of our team. As a family company, we are proud Monty wears the United jersey!”

Working with industry leaders, we introduce our students to a variety of companies in the trucking industry.
